Returning from puja, man run over in SE Delhi

New Delhi: A 28-year-old man returning from Durga Puja celebrations at C R Park was run over by an unidentified vehicle in the Lajpat Nagar area in southeast Delhi.
He was identified as Sanjeev Bhattacharya, a resident of New Ashok Nagar. Sanjeev’s motorcycle hit a car and skidded on the bridge, police said.
The accident took place around 11:30 pm on Wednesday, the police added. They said he was on his way home from a pandal at C R Park.
“A taxi had broken down but the driver had not kept the backlights blinking. Bhattacharya was not able to see the car in front of him and crashed into it. As he fell an unidentified vehicle ran over him. The errant driver fled the spot,” a senior police officer said.
