NEW DELHI: A city court on Wednesday granted five days’ parole to suspended IPS officer R K Sharma, prime accused in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, to attend his daughter’s wedding on April 20.
Additional session judge J M Malik allowed Sharma’s plea to with a stringent condition that policemen in plain clothes will be with him at all times.
The court directed the jail authorities that Sharma would be allowed to move wherever he wished to in Chandigarh, Panchkula, Karnal, Delhi and Allahabad as long as he was accompanied by police officers.
He will remain in custodial supervision and judicial custody at all times, the court said.
It directed that during the period of custodial parole, the vehicle will be arranged by the jail authorities but the cost of petrol will be borne by the accused (Sharma) himself.
