NEW DELHI: The Delhi Congress has set out its crack team of 10 youth leaders with varied professional backgrounds ranging from academics and law to social work and information technology on the job to track the functioning of the AAP government. President Pranab Mukherjee's daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee has been appointed as the new chief spokesperson and communication department in-charge of DPCC.
“The young team, representing the new face of the grand old party, would be proactive in taking up issues rather than just being reactive,” Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said. This move is being seen as an attempt by the Congress to revive its fortunes in the capital following a complete wipeout in the last assembly elections.
“All 10 members of this team would function as shadow heads of departments such as power, transport and health. All are keen on research work,” Maken said.
