new delhi: a delhi police sub-inspector, investigating the case of a man who was reported missing from geeta colony, has been suspended. the missing man was buried as unidentified. masood ahmed, 26, went missing from geeta colony on may 11 and his father mohammed saddique reported the matter to the local police. his body was recovered from vakil lane area under tilak marg police station the next day and all the police stations were informed about it.
for 12 days, the investigating officer in the case, devender singh, remained clueless about the recovery of the body which bore marks indicating a murder. in the meantime, the autopsy conducted on masood's body confirmed murder and his body was handed over to the wakf board for burial. when the si learnt of the recovery of masood's body last week, he took the missing man's family to tilak marg police station and the deceased identified from photographs. the family members then complained to senior district officials and the si was suspended.
