8-yr-old girl dies in hospital, father cries foul

Cuncolim: A eight-year old girl, Satya Vaisnavi, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital Cuncolim, late Wednesday night. While the Cuncolim police have booked the case as unnatural death, the father of the deceased, Dr R Venkatesh, a doctor attached to a government hospital, has alleged that medical negligence led to his daughter’s death.
He has demanded that post mortem be carried by a panel of doctors from Goa medical college and hospial, Bambolim, to ascertain the cause of death.
Cuncolim police sources informed that the girl was admitted to the hospital at around 10am on Wednesday after she complained of pain in her stomach. She was rushed into the intensive care unit (ICU) as her condition worsened and declared dead at around midnight, polic sources said.
