Bangladeshi film ‘Aguntuk’ bags Prasad DI award at Film Bazaar
Panaji: The 16th edition of the Film Bazaar came to an end on Friday and saw a number of awards being announced for winning entries. Bangladeshi feature film ‘Aguntuk’ (Stranger) by Biplob Sarkar was named winner of the Prasad DI award.
Two films won the Prasad Post-production and Moviebuff Appreciation Awards — Mithya (Kannada) directed by Sumanth Bhat and Bahadur (Nepali, Kumaoni and Hindi) directed by Diwa Shah.

Terming the Film Bazaar the crucial link in the global filmmaking industry chain and the country’s creative economy, Union minister of information and broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur, said, “ It is the converging point for film buyers and sellers from all over the world with a focus on South Asian content and talent in filmmaking, production and distribution.”
Film Bazaar Recommends prizes for shorts went to two films: ‘Perianayaki’ a tale of a Sri Lankan immigrant in New Zealand, by Bala Murali Shingade, and an Indian-made animated short film ‘Priyo Ami’ (Dear Me) by Suchana Saha.
The French Institute Award by the French Embassy was given to ‘Kissa-e-Circus’ by Savita Singh.
Final Draft, which is the industry standard and market leader in screenwriting software, announced that licences would be given to 20 projects in the Co-production Market and six in the Screenwriters’ Lab.
