Cuncolim police arrest K’taka resident for theft

MARGAO: Subani Kasimsaab Janamdar, 35, was arrested by the Cuncolim police on Saturday.
Cuncolim PI Gurudas Kadam informed STOI that Janamdar, from Zoida-Karwar, Karnataka, was apprehended by the police after he was found moving suspiciously with a copper vessel (bann) and brought to the police station for the purpose of interrogation.
It was then discovered that the vessel recovered from his possession was the same as that reported stolen by Gauri Naik Karmali of Savorcotta-Cuncolim.
“The accused has been arrested under Section 379 (theft) of IPC and remanded to two days of police custody and further interrogation is in progress,” said Kadam. tnn
