Panaji: The President, Prime Minister, and Union home minister on Thursday extended their wishes on Goa Liberation Day and paid their tributes to the martyrs of Goa’s freedom struggle.
President
Droupadi Murmu said in a message, “On Goa Liberation Day, the nation pays tribute to bravehearts who made selfless sacrifice for the liberation of Goa from colonial rule. We salute the fearless freedom fighters and our armed forces for their exceptional courage and unwavering dedication. I extend warm wishes to the people of Goa and wish them a prosperous future.”

Narendra Modi recalled the bravery and determination of the great women and men who were actively involved in the movement to free Goa. “Their valour motivates us to keep working for the betterment of Goa and the prosperity of the people of the state,” he said.
Home minister
Amit Shah said, “Greetings to the people of Goa on Goa Liberation Day. It is a day that commemorates the indomitable sense of patriotism and freedom that paved the way for them to live as proud Indians. My solemn tributes to the great souls who made the supreme sacrifice in this movement.”

Rahul Gandhi, said, “We honour the brave martyrs who freed Goa from Portuguese rule. Let us cherish its rich culture, natural beauty, and vibrant heritage, and pledge to preserve its legacy while working towards its prosperity and harmony.”
