The Old Goa police on Sunday booked an offence against the management of Syngenta for allegedly causing death by negligence of Rohidas Madkaikar, 35, a resident of Corlim.

PANAJI: The Old Goa police on Sunday booked an offence against the management of Syngenta for allegedly causing death by negligence of Rohidas Madkaikar, 35, a resident of Corlim.Police said that Madkaikar's leg was seriously injured when the compound wall of Syngenta, Corlim, collapsed on him.Old Goa police inspector Krishna Sinari said, "We registered a first information report (FIR) against the management of Syngenta for causing death by negligence of Madkaikar."The incident took place on Saturday night at around 9 when Madkaikar was walking toward his house. He was immediately shifted to the Goa medical college and hospital (GMC), Bambolim, and was declared dead while undergoing treatment.Old Goa police registered the offence under Sections 304 (a) and 336 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the police are further investigating the case.
