Gurgaon: Woman falls off auto as two men on bike snatch iPhone & flee
GURGAON: A 32-year-old woman fell from a moving autorickshaw near Huda City Centre on Monday night as two men on a bike yanked her iPhone from her hand and sped away.
Injured, the woman was treated at a private hospital in the city. Police said they have registered an FIR on a complaint by Jagruti Mahajan, who lives in Sector 12 and works for a private firm at Cyber City.
Mahajan said she boarded an auto with her brother to go to a supermarket in Sushant Lok around 11.30pm on Monday. As the auto started moving, two men on a bike started following them. "When the pillion rider tried to snatch my iPhone 15, I did not let it go. He then used more force, and I fell on the road along with my phone. He took it and fled. I suffered multiple injuries," Mahajan told police.
SI Vinod of Sushant Lok station said the FIR was filed under BNS Section 309 (6) (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) on Tuesday.
"We are verifying CCTV footage from nearby places to identify and arrest the accused. The complainant also said she will be able to identify the accused as they were not wearing helmets," the SI said.
