Guwahati: Assam Pradesh BJP slammed independent MLA from Sivasagar
Akhil Gogoi, calling him a “master storyteller” who spins imaginary tales without evidence.
The party said his recent voter deletion claims are baseless and endorsed blindly by a frustrated, directionless opposition. BJP asserted that people trust its leadership for safeguarding indigenous communities, while opposition parties focus solely on appeasing “Miya” Muslim votes.
Party spokesperson Kamal Kumar Medhi said Gogoi has earned distinction not as a serious politician, but as a master narrator of fairytales. “He first creates an imaginary story within his own mind and then narrates it repeatedly before the public. While a few people may momentarily mistake these fictional tales for truth, with the passage of time the people inevitably realise that they were nothing more than fabricated stories,” he added.
Gogoi recently accused the BJP in Assam of plotting to delete names of anti-BJP voters from electoral rolls ahead of assembly elections. He claimed this involves targeting around 10,000 voters per constituency in 60 areas.
Medhi said the majority of the allegations raised by him over the last twenty years have ultimately stood revealed as self-serving and imaginary narratives.
