One BJP min to meet people every week at party HQ as part of new system: Saikia
Guwahati: BJP will soon introduce a system under which one minister will be available every week at the party’s state headquarters to meet people and hear their grievances or issues, state BJP president Dilip Saikia said on Monday.
“The initiative is aimed at assisting the people to reach the govt and bringing them closer to the govt,” Saikia said.
“Besides the ministers, both the political secretaries to the chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will remain present on behalf of the CM. People, who cannot meet the CM directly due to various reasons, can submit their issues, grievances or applications to the political secretaries,” the state BJP president said.
He said one minister will remain present each week in the party’s state headquarters. “We will try to ensure the system continues and becomes helpful,” Saikia added.
BJP MLAs Taranga Gogoi and Krishna Kamal Tanti have been appointed as the political secretary to the chief minister.
“As a political secretary to the CM, I have come to the office and met the state president and discussed the things. The arrangement has been made so that the people, who cannot meet the CM directly for various reasons, can meet us in the party office with their issues or grievances. We will put efforts to work accordingly,” Tanti said.
“I would like to thank the CM for entrusting me with such a responsibility to a second time MLA representing the tea tribe community. I thank the CM for giving importance to the upliftment of the tea tribe community,” he added.
Gogoi said, “Many times, certain things remain away from the chief minister’s notice. It is the duty of the political secretaries to bring those things to the notice of the CM. I am thankful for entrusting myself with such responsibility. This initiative by the party to meet the people at the party’s state headquarters is a welcoming move and will definitely serve the purpose.”
