: Several Assam Police commandos were injured after ULFA(I) militants carried out a pre-dawn attack on a security camp in Assam’s Tinsukia district on Sunday, officials said.
The insurgent group has claimed responsibility for the assault.
The attack took place around 2 am in the Jagun area, where militants allegedly fired at least five rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) at the commando camp, triggering a gunfight that lasted nearly 20 minutes.
At least four injured commandos have been admitted to Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh. Their condition is yet to be officially confirmed.
Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to track down the attackers.
