Silchar: Police seized a truck allegedly carrying 15 illegally transported cattle and arrested the driver at the Balacherra toll gate in Cachar district on Saturday night.
The arrested driver was identified as Moin Uddin (20), a resident of Morigaon district.
According to police sources, the truck was travelling from Lanka towards Silchar when it was intercepted during a routine checking drive at the toll gate.
During interrogation, the driver claimed that he had documents related to the cattle transportation. However, he allegedly failed to produce any valid papers before the police.
Following questioning, police arrested the driver and registered a case at the Borkhola police station.
The truck, along with the 15 cattle, was taken into police custody for investigation.
