2 of wedding party killed, 5 critical

Hyderabad: At least two people were killed, and more than five people suffered critical injuries in a road accident late Friday night at Rudraram, a village in Sangareddy district of Telangana.
Patancheru police said that the accident took place when a DCM vehicle carrying 40 members of a marriage party rammed into a lorry while on their return post a wedding ceremony at Chitkul, in Patancheru mandal in Medak district.
The two persons, S Kishtaiah and Ramulamma, died on the spot. While all the other injured persons were shifted to a local hospital.
Police suspected that the DCM driver was drunk at the time of accident and made him undergo drunken driving test but the result turned out to be negative.
DSP (Patancheru) Bheem Reddy said that it was a case of negligence which led to the accident.
