20 IPS officers shuffled, Ravi Gupta remains DGP
HYDERABAD: The state government on Tuesday carried out a a major reshuffle of IPS officers and transferred 20 of them, including several senior-rank officers. Ravi Gupta, a 1990 batch officer, will continue to be director-general of police (Head of Police Force, HoPF), but not as a regular DGP. However, he has been given full additional charge.
Gupta has been named DG (Coordination) and relieved of ACB charge.
His batchmate Anjani Kumar, who was waiting for posting after his suspension was revoked by Election Commission of India (ECI) last week, was named chairman, Road Safety Authority. He was also given full additional charge of commissioner, Printing & Stationary.
Similarly, 1991-batch IPS officer CV Anand, who was removed as Hyderabad Police Commissioner by the Election Commission after announcement of poll schedule in October, has been posted as director general, Anti-Corruption Bureau. He replaces Ravi Gupta.
Another 1991-batch officer Rajiv Ratan, managing director of Telangana State Police Housing Corporation Ltd, was transferred and posted as director general (Vigilance & Enforcement).
Abhilasha Bisht, an additional director-general of police, Welfare & Sports, was transferred and posted as director, RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy.
Her batchmate Soumya Mishra, additional DGP (Personnel), was transferred and posted as director general, (Prisons & Correctional Services) relieving senior IPS officer Jitender, who is currently principal secretary, Home.
Shikha Goel, additional DGP (Women Safety, SHE Teams & Bharosa) was transferred and posted as Additional director general(CID) replacing Mahesh M Bhagwat.

Anil Kumar, who was the intelligence chief in the BRS regime till recent elections, was posted as DG, Telangana Special Protection Force. Additional CP (Rachakonda) Tarun Joshi was transferred and posted as inspector general of police (IGP) (Multi Zone-II). He would hold additional charge of IG (Multi Zone- I) too. Director of Drugs Control VB Kamalasan Reddy was given additional charge of director (Prohibition & Excise).
AR Srinivas, who was the head of TS Police Academy, was transferred and posted as director of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), while S Chandrasekhar Reddy has been posted as IGP (Personnel).
M Ramesh, IGP (Provisioning & Logistics), has been given full additional charge of director, Telangana State Police Housing Corporation. K Ramesh Naidu who is currently deputy IG, Zone-III, Rajanna Sircilla, has been transferred and posted as DIG, CID.
V Satyanarayana, DIG, who was waiting for posting, has been named joint commissioner of police, City Armed Reserve. Prior to assembly election, he was transferred by ECI and kept away from election duties. DIG M Srinivasulu, a 2016-batch officer, has been directed to report to the office of the DGP.
B Sumathi Reddy, DIG (CID) & Women Protection Cell, has been transferred and posted in the all-important and sensitive post of DIG (Special Intelligence Bureau), which deals with anti-Maoist intelligence.
