Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) general manager Arun Kumar Jain on Wednesday announced the special Bharat Gaurav tourist train ‘Punyakshetra Yatra’ covering the popular pilgrimage circuit Puri, Kashi and Ayodhya will begin from March 18.
Addressing a press conference at Rail Nilayam, Arun Kumar said nine-day journey would begin from March 18 and culminate on March 26.
The train has been completely booked with all 700 berths filled. The tourist itinerary starts from Secunderabad to Puri, Konark, Gaya, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Secunderabad. En route passengers would be boarded/deboarded at Kazipet, Khammam, Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram.
“Majority of the passengers (468) are boarding at Secunderabad followed by 76 at Vijayawada and 69 at Kazipet and other stations,” Arun Kumar Jain said.
The price of the journey ranges between 15,300 and 31,510 for single travellers, 13,955 and 29,615 for double or triple sharing.
