HYDERABAD: Each party in Telangana has picked up a model of governance to present to the voters this time. As the state is all set for a triangle war among BRS,
Congress and
BJP during the assembly elections, parties have braced for high-decibel campaigns in support of their government’s success stories.
The saffron party is pitching for Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their icon and talks about a double engine government like the ones in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
BJP MP and former chief of party in Telangana K Laxman has been vocal about the UP model. He often speaks on the number of double-bedroom units, pensions and other welfare schemes in UP. Interestingly, UP is also one of the states where farm loan has been waived.
Congress, which rules a few states, is only highlighting the achievements of its government in Karnataka. AICC leader Rahul Gandhi, during a rally in Tukkuguda, had asked people to inquire about the implementation of its poll guarantees in that state.
The BRS proposes to implement its own model of governance throughout the country. Party leaders such as CM K Chandrashekar Rao speaks about their flagship schemes such as Rythu Bandhu and development of the IT sector in Hyderabad and other towns.
In the past, there was a war of words between Laxman and state minister KT Rama Rao over the UP and Telangana models.
