WARANGAL: Taking a cue from their Karimnagar counterparts, Adilabad district police have launched Maa Vuuriki Randi - Maathoonee Vundandi campaign under the ‘Police for you’ programme last month.
Police officers belonging to circle inspector cadre conducted counselling sessions in several villages on the significance of various welfare schemes such as Janmabhoomi and Neeru Meeru.
The campaign provided the police an opportunity to meet the people of the interior villages and understand their problems.
Police officials who attended the counselling sessions said that in several villagers government employees, teachers particularly, were abstaining from their duties.
Besides teachers, multi-purpose health workers were also abstaining from duties, they said.
It was also found that if in some places binami workers were discharging the duties of officials, in other places the government employees were involving in contract “businesses�, the police said.
The police department has booked cases against the employees abstaining from their works, they informed.
