HYDERABAD: The call data records retrieved from arrested Ghanaian drug peddler Adefule Michael’s phone show that he frequented Mumbai and Goa many more times than he claims to have.
The main drug supplier, Peter, stays in Mumbai and is an accomplice of the accused. This only makes the suspicion stronger that this drug network has been an active supplier of drugs in the city for a long time.

Though the Central Crime Station (CCS) officials had said earlier that Peter was absconding, it was later found that he is lodged at jail in Mumbai on charges of supplying drugs two months ago.
Peter and Michael were also roommates in Mumbai before the latter moved to Sainikpuri in the city.
In all the high-end pubs and resorts in the city, where Michael confessed to have supplied cocaine and LSD, he went in as a customer and sold the contraband to the youngsters.
“During interrogation, Michael disclosed the names of 50 clients from the city and we suspect that there will be many more. We want to take his custody to find more about the network and his clientele. Since Michael landed in India, he has been in the business of drug sale and the cover for this operation is garment business,'' a senior officer in Hyderabad police told TOI.

Officials said that Michael, after coming to India, has been extending his business visa by every six months and his latest visa will expire in December.
The surprising part of the operation is that the gang has been bringing the contraband drugs in buses and trains into the city just like any other ordinary product. The massive drug abuse at a concert in a resort on the city suburbs shows that police are either blind or intelligence gathering is absolutely nil.
The system of one time password to enter the drug network for a new customer has surprised the police after the accused disclosed it.
Officials are ascertaining whether the trend of purchase of drugs online is also prevalent in the city, since such a trend has picked up in Bangalore.
