Father-son duo gets 20-yr jail for raping minor girl

Hyderabad: A man and his father have been convicted and sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old girl. The convicts were identified as Ingole Anil (26) and Ingole Gangadhar (70) of Ravindranagar in Adilabad district. Anil's wife, Dhupatre Susma (23), was also convicted and sentenced to three months in jail for her involvement in the case.The additional district principal judge, Shivaram Prasad, imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the duo and Rs 500 on the woman. The judge also directed the authorities to pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the victim. During the trial, statements from 18 witnesses were examined before the judgment was pronounced on Thursday.The incident took place on Feb 14, 2025, within the limits of Adilabad Rural police station. According to the police, Susma, a neighbour of the victim, called the minor to her home on the pretext of offering tea. She then confided the girl inside the house with her husband while keeping watch outside.When the girl cried for help, Gangadhar held her while Anil struck her on the neck with a cutting plier, causing injury. Then the duo sexually assaulted the minor girl and threatened her with dire consequences if she informed anyone about it.Following a complaint lodged by the victim's family, the Adilabad rural police registered a case and carried out an investigation. District SP Akhil Mahajan commended the police personnel and the public prosecutor for securing a conviction for the accused.
