Feel neglected by TPCC: Shia leaders
CHARMINAR: Leaders of the Shia community said they feel neglected by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee lately.
Mir Murtaza Ali Moosvi, a Congress leader from the Shia community, sent a letter to All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi, saying the Shia community, which constitutes around 25 per cent of the Muslim population in the country, and a larger percentage in Hyderabad, was being neglected.

He alleged the Shias were not being given importance, pointing out that the Shias were not given a single ticket by TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy during 2016 GHMC polls.
"Earlier, former Telangana Congress Party in-charge Digvijaya Singh opined that the TPCC should have people from the Shia community in their fold, but unfortunately issues are been cornered, and no one was in a mood to take Shia leaders into confidence,"said Moosvi.
Now Shia Muslims from Old City have decided to meet Rahul Gandhi directly, to discuss the matter of their placement in TPCC.
"So we have decided to meet AICC president Rahul Gandhi on August 4 to take up this issue with him again," said Moosavi.
