GHMC panel approves 11 proposals

Hyderabad: The GHMC standing committee cleared 11 proposals on Friday. Chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, it approved property acquisitions for four road development projects.
These include a 30m-wide road from TKR Road to Nagarjuna Sagar Road, TV Tower Junction in Moosarambagh to Ali Café Junction, Kondapur Junction to Police Colony and Jubilee Hills Road Number 92 to Banjara Hills Road Number 12.A total of 449 properties would be acquired for these projects. The committee agreed to name LB Nagar Junction as Srikantha Chary Junction, after Kasoju Srikantha Chary who set himself ablaze during the Telangana movement. The LB Nagar right hand-side flyover will be known as Mal Maisamma flyover, after the goddess.
It gave sanction of 3 crore for diversion of drainage from Periki Cheruvu in Gajularamaram. It gave nod for CSR proposals related to road development at Pedbasheerabad, maintenance of medians from IIIT to Radisson Hotel and maintenance and operations of modern Hindu cemetery – Mahaparinirvana for five years. tnn
