HYDERABAD: In the attempt to murder case of Mahbubnagar Central Crime Station inspector Iftekar Ahmed, cops have named the woman constable's husband.
The FIR mentioned that the woman cop had called the inspector to her house on the instructions of her husband, who is also a constable. Police are yet to arrest the accused. They are likely to make more arrest based on the findings during the probe.
Inspector Ahmed, who underwent surgery for the injury in his private parts, is still unconscious and undergoing treatment in a private hospital at Gachibowli. His condition is said to be stable.
According to the FIR, Inspector Ahmed was continuously troubling the woman constable, asking her to come to him and she could not bear it. At 11.30 pm on Wednesday night, her husband told her to call the inspector to their house to talk.
The woman constable then made a phone call to the inspector and he arrived at her house in the town outskirts on Wednesday night. "When Ahmed reached their house, a fight broke out between him and her husband. The inspector was hit and injured. The woman constable said that her husband had shifted the injured inspector to the latter's car parked nearby, drove it to Palakonda bypass road and abandoned the vehicle there with an intention to tamper with the evidence," Mahbubnagar Rural CI Swamy Goud said.
A local, who saw the inspector naked and unconscious in the car with bleeding injury to his private parts, alerted the cops first.
Meanwhile, the woman constable too called the police and gave her version of the episode.
Mahbubnagar SP Harshavardhan said that based on the initial complaint, they booked a case against the constable.
