HYDERABAD: Ministers in the YSR cabinet who held important portfolios including revenue, industries, IT and irrigation as well as bureaucrats who granted key approvals are likely to come under the CBI scanner as part of its comprehensive probe into the assets of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, CBI sources told TOI.
The persons who may face CBI probe could include ministers Ponnala Laxmaiah (irrigation projects), Dhamarana Prasada Rao (land allocations), Botsa Satyanarayana and Kanna Laxminaryana (industrial permissions), Sabita Reddy (mining licences), M Venkata Ramana, (SEZ and ports allotments), former ministers Balineni Srinivasa Reddy (mining licences), R Damodar Reddy ((IT SEZ allotments), IAS officers BP Acharya (for his role in APIIC and Emaar land deal), C V S K Sarma (for clearing tenders under Jalayagnam irrigation projects), K Ratna Prabha (for granting approvals to IT SEZs) and Y Srilaxmi (for granting mining licences).

"We are waiting for formal High Court order. After looking into it, we can decide the scope of the investigation," V V Laxminarayana, joint director of CBI, told TOI. The corporate wing of the CBI will examine the case to decode the dozens of companies and their investment routes. It is with the help of this corporate wing that the CBI could unravel the 1.7 lakh crore 2G scam, the CBI sources pointed out.
