KCR statehood fete a stunt: Cong

Hyderabad: The Congress has said that the decennial celebration of Telangana’s formation day announced by CM K Chandrasekhar Rao was nothing but an election stunt.
The party said the state has been turned from being revenue surplus to one with a debt of over ₹4 lakh. The state government is even struggling to pay salaries to its employees on time, Congress said.
“Where is Girijan Bandhu which was announced by CM earlier? BRS wants to showcase its achievements during decennial celebrations but what about its failures and unkept promises?” asked Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy.
The ₹10 lakh financial grant under ‘Dalit Bandhu scheme’ has remained on paper, he said, adding that only a few SC families have been given the financial assistance. He said the scheme has been marred by allegations of BRS leaders demanding 30% commission from beneficiaries.
