hyderabad: officials of the national museum, new delhi, will help the salar jung museum authorities on maintenance and display of the nizam jewellery, which arrived in the city on friday. director general of national museum, new delhi, r d choudhari told the times of india on saturday that a report will be prepared in three days and presented to the salar jung museum authorities.
the report will be prepared after discussions with the curator of the national museum, new delhi dr rita sharma and director, department of culture, government of india, dr saujit mittal, who have also arrived in the city. the jewellery, worth an estimated rs 2,500 crore, was brought to the city in a special chartered plane of the indian air force. the collection will be displayed at the gallery constructed at the eastern block of the salar jung museum. the block has been cordoned off for security reasons and more than 100 cisf personnel have been deployed at the premises. an official of the museum said thousands of visitors are expected to visit the jewellery exhibition which will be inaugurated on november 24. the entry tickets will be priced at rs 50 for adults.a batch of 50 to 100 visitors will be permitted at a time, for half an hour each.
