HYDERABAD: Justice M Sudheer Kumar of
Telangana high court has upheld state norm that says that all the PG doctors must serve in rural areas at least for one year before taking up other jobs.
The judge pronounced this order while dismissing a plea filed by Abhinav Singla and six other PG doctors who questioned the state norm. State’s special counsel A Santhosh Kumar said the Supreme Court upheld the right of the states to insist on bonds from doctors to serve the states for shorter periods.
Even in Telangana, as many as 890 doctors reported to work and only seven doctors were opposing the norm.
The judge dismissed their plea. tnn
