Protest held over woman’s death in hit-&-run
Hyderabad: The death of a 20-year-old woman in a hit-and-run case at Bandlaguda led to protests on Thursday night.Hyderabad: A 20-year-old woman was killed after the two-wheeler on which she was travelling was hit by a lorry at Bandlaguda on Thursday night.
Bandlaguda police said that the deceased was identified as Fatima Begum. On Thursday night after attending a marriage, Fatima, her husband Mohammed Amir and his brother’s children – Sheik Suleiman (8) and Nausheer Begum (1) were travelling on the bike.
At Bandlaguda U-turn, a lorry hit the bike. Fatima suffered a head injury and died, while the other three escaped with minor injuries. The lorry driver fled from the spot.
Following the accident, a large number of people gathered and staged a protest. A criminal case was registered. Meanwhile, AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi visited the spot.
