Revanth Reddy yatra from Medaram tomorrow in Telangana

Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy will launch first phase of his padayatra from Sammmakka-Sarakka jatara venue of Medaram on February 6, drawing inspiration from the tribal deities' fight against kingship and feudal lords, and also from former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy's walkathon in 2003 that brought Congress to power in the undivided state in 2004.

"Time has come to put an end to dictatorial rule in the state. YSR launched a padayatra from Chevella when people were vexed with Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP government. Similar situation is prevailing in Telangana now.

While YSR brought Congress to power by launching his padayatra from Sabitha Indra Reddy's Chevella constituency, I am launching my walkathon from party MLA D Anasuya (Seethakka) assembly segment of Mulugu," Revanth said.
He will cover the seven assembly constituencies in Mahabubabad parliamentary constituency in his first phase of walkathon that will continue up to February 22. Then, he will take a break to participate in a three-day Congress plenary in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, from February 24. Later, the second phase of the walkathon will commence. "The idea is to cover all the villages and constituencies in the state as part of 'Haath Se haath Jodo Abhiyan' and take Rahul gandhi's message to every house and family in Telangana," AICC in charge of Telangana Manikrao Thakre said after holding a meeting with party seniors here on Saturday.
