Salar Jung awards given to museum staff’s children

HYDERABAD: The Salar Jung Museum director Dr A K V S Reddy presented the Salar Jung Educational Awards to children of the museum employees at a function held at the Nawab Mir Turab Ali Khan Bhawan of here on Monday.
About 12 students from nursery to class nine are selected for the meritorious awards in recognition of their academic excellence. The awards were instituted five years back by the Salar Jung Museum Library and Co-operative Canteen Employees Association.
Presenting the awards, Reddy congratulated the children and said such awards would go a long way in encouraging the children.He said Salar Jung had always been in the forefront for promoting education and some of the employees children have studied with scholarships at Aligarh Muslim University and other universities in the country. For students from class 10 and above, the museum authorities confer the awards in recognition of their efforts, he said.
