SI suspended for detaining businessman
HYDERABAD: City police commissioner M V Krishna Rao on Monday suspended Ramgopalpet sub-inspector (SI) S Sivam Naidu for illegally detaining Mukund Kakani, managing director of Godavari Drugs, in an alleged cheating case.
Kakani was detained by SI Naidu near his residence on Saturday and released from custody at the intervention of home secretary Bharat Chandra on the contention of protecting the ''rights of a detainee''.
Kakani allegedly owes Rs 13 lakh to Kranthi Paper Products of Jeedimetla and a case was registered against him.
