HYDERABAD: The Congress Forum for Telangana has fallen out with the Pradesh Congress Committee over the release of Nagarjunasagar water for crops in the Krishna delta.
The PCC leadership failed to represent the Congress stand in a proper perspective at the all-party meeting chaired by the chief minister on the issue, the CFT leaders said.
“The PCC president D Srinivas, CLP leader Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, official spokesperson K Rosaiah acted in support of Krishna Delta, CFT leader Palvai Goverdhan Reddy alleged at a press conference on Sunday.
The forum also accused Chandrababu Naidu of acting as “the chief minister of Krishan Delta.
The PCC had held a meeting of representatives from three regions at Gandhi Bhavan in which it was resolved that minimum draw down levels (MDDL) should be maintained at Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam reservoirs to ensure that water would be available for Telangana region and also for Chennai.
The meeting also favoured power generation only when the water levels at Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam reservoirs reach 530 ft and 854 ft respectively.
“Unfortunately, the PCC stand was not clear at the allparty meeting, Goverdhan Reddy said, adding, the PCC has to correct itself, else it would have to face people’s wrath.
