HYDERABAD: Maulana Azad Urdu National University (Manuu) students locked down the university on Tuesday protesting delay in creation of a student union. The varsity officials conceded to student demands. Students said that they have been demanding permission to form a union for five years but the university has been delaying the matter.
"Students have not been able to represent and solve their issues efficiently as they are not organised.
We issued an ultimatum to university officials saying that we would not attend classes until our demand is met," said Asif Iqbal Ansari, a student.
Relenting to pressure the officials informed the new elections for the new union will be held on February 28.tnn
