Tollywood producer Kedar Selagamsetty dies in Dubai
Hyderabad: A 42-year-old Tollywood producer, Kedar Selagamsetty, was found dead in his Dubai apartment on Monday night. While there has been no formal announcement by either the family of the deceased or the Telugu film fraternity, a source from the industry confirmed to TOI on Wednesday that Selagamsetty had died in Dubai. The reason for his death is still unknown.
Reports suggest that Selagamsetty had returned to his apartment in Dubai after attending a party and, reportedly, died in his sleep. He is survived by his wife and daughter, said sources.
"We have neither received any official information about his death nor are we aware of the causes of his death," a senior producer of the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) said.
Last year, Selamsetty — believed to be a close associate of some big film stars the industry — produced a film starring Anand Devarakonda. He reportedly had some more projects lined up. Selagamsetty was also in the news in 2024 for his alleged involvement in a drugs case busted by the Cyberabad police at a hotel in Hi-Tec City. The police had booked a case against the producer for consumption of drugs. He was out on bail.
