SECUNDERABAD: The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign has resulted in brisk sale of flags across the twin cities. Wholesale and retail merchants say they have seen a two-fold rise in the sale of the Tricolour this year over 2022. Some traders, who have been in business for three decades, pegged the estimates for sale of tricolours at Rs 25 crore this year.
"We earned what we lost during the pandemic," a maker of national flags told TOI.

"There has been huge demand from educational institutions, government offices, political parties, and residential welfare associations' for flags owing to the Har Ghar Tiranga."
Nandu, a printer of national flags at Chikkadpally, said this year he printed 12,000 tricolours of 20x30 inches, a size fixed by the government." These flags are sold Rs 25 each, he said.
A stationery shop owner at Begum Bazaar, Shashikant said, "We began receiving orders two months ago. We have sold 25,000 flags of all dimensions."
BT Srinivasan, secretary of Uferwas, said, "Many RWAs purchased flags from post offices, and some approached the beat postman for bookings."
This year the postal department sold 3.9 lakh Tricolours through 6,214 post offices. The Centre had supplied 5.9 lakh flags to post offices in the state.
