HYDERABAD: Two youngsters, reportedly under the spell of hysteria, murdered their mother at Bahadurpura late Thursday night. Locals and police had to struggle for more than an hour to control the 'hysteria-hit' youngsters and their five sisters who locked themselves up in a room in the house. They dragged their mother inside the room and throttled her while their father managed to escape from his children's clutches.
The children, however, are claiming that they did not kill their mother but it was an 'evil force' which killed the woman.
According to police, the slain woman Noorjahan, 45, was a resident of Nadeem Nagar in Bahadurpura. She was married to Mohd Qureshi Ahmed and the couple has three sons and five daughters. Qureshi works at a beef shop. The family reportedly visited a dargah at Balki in Bidar on September 10 to cure an ailment of Noorjahan. The baba at the dargah advised them to offer some prayers after reaching home. He also asked them not to sleep in the house on the day the prayers were offered. The family returned on September 12 and performed the prayers. As advised by the baba, the family slept in the house of one of their neighbours, Jani Miyan, on that night. On Thursday, the family returned to their home. In the evening, Noorjahan, as usual, prepared food for the family and went out to fetch water. By the time she came back, she found her two sons and five daughters confined themselves in a room. They were making strange noises and were chanting 'baba, baba,' police said. Noorjahan reportedly tried to open the door to see what her children were doing, but they dragged her into the room and throttled her.Qureshi and the couple's eldest son were away for work. A little time later Qureshi came home, and after noticing strange noises coming from the room, he too tried to see what was happening. The children reportedly tried to drag him into the room, but he managed to escape. He alerted his neighbours who in turn called the police immediately. Sources said nearly five policemen initially came to the house but they failed to bring the 'hysteric' youngsters under control. Nearly 20 policemen were rushed to the house who finally overpowered the duo. Noorjahan's murder came to light only later. The children, however, claimed that it was an evil force which killed their mother. Police booked murder cases against the two sons -Mohd Mohsin (25) and Mateen (23). Interestingly, the sisters told police that Mohsin and Mateen throttled Noorjahan to death.
