Woman sets herself ablaze

HYDERABAD: A housewife, K Renuka, 28, committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her home in Jagathgirigutta late on Sunday night. Her husband K Kanakaiah and her two children-Nikhita, 8 and Ravali, 6-who tried to rescue her suffered burns, but the trio are out of danger.
According to Jeedimetla inspector A Sanjeeva Rao, Kanakaiah, used to spend all his money on liquor.Though his wife warned him several times, there was no change in his attitude. Vexed with her husband's behaviour, she doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze late on Sunday night.
Though her husband and children tried to rescue her, their efforts proved in vain. She died on the spot due to severe burns. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem. Police registered a case under section 174 (Suspicious death) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
