HYDERABAD: With the institution of marriage increasingly coming under strain, a citybased organisation on Sunday conducted a workshop to teach couples and young people to ''manage'' marriage.
"With increasing instances of dowry and divorce cases, we thought it would be appropriate to conduct a formal workshop to protect the institution of marriage and teach couples the art of living in a happy and peaceful manner," said C V L Narasimha Rao, president of Raksha, a ''forum for public responsive legal action and speedy justice''.

Increasing consumerism, decline of the joint family system and growing intolerance are the primary reasons for marriages going sour and a concerted effort is needed to address the problem, Rao added.
The workshop is aimed not only at couples with marital problems but young people as it will help them handle future relationships, the organisers said.
Rao said the message that Raksha wants to send out to married couples is ''choose happy marriage or easy divorce''.
If the couple think that they cannot have a happy married life, then it is better to part ways amicably.
