Journalists cease work, protest in Imphal against torching of newsprint
Imphal: Condemning the torching of newsprint rolls and other printing materials by miscreants in Kangpokpi district on Wednesday, the media fraternity of the state ceased work for the day on Friday and protested at the Manipur Press Club premises, reports K Sarojkumar Sharma. The press materials, meant for a local daily news house in Imphal, were being transported from Guwahati by truck when around 25 miscreants intercepted the vehicle on Wednesday at around 2:30 pm in the Motbung area.
