Indore: Thieves broke into house of Indore Municipal Corporation’s assistant bill collector at Scheme-78 and stole cash and jewellery worth several lakhs of rupees, the police said on Friday. In a complaint to the police, IMC official Pratibhansingh Bundela said that the theft took place on late Thursday night.
The family had gone to attend a function and returned home at around 1am and went to sleep.
Family members noticed the theft when they woke up in the morning and found main door of the house open and jewellery box and cash missing from an almirah. Bundela claimed that gold jewellery weighing 110 gram and Rs50,000 cash were stolen. The police said that it appeared the thieves had gained entry by opening the door through side window.
“A case of theft has been registered against unidentified persons and an investigation in on,” Lasudia police station in-charge Santosh Dudhi said. tnn
