Illegal liquor worth Rs 20L seized in Dhar

Mhow: Naugaon policeof Dhar district seized liquor worth around Rs 20 lakh being transported illegally in two vehicles on Dhar-Labrawda road late on Friday.Naugaon police station sub-inspector Umesh Songara told TOI that they received information about illegally possessed liquor being transferred from a pickup to another on Labrawda road.A team was sent to the spot, and as soon as the police reached there, all of those present on the two vehicles fled, taking advantage of the darkness.The team recovered 248 cartons comprising beer and whisky worth Rs 20.1 lakh from the two vehicles. The police were able to identify one of the accused named Tony Chowdhary. A case was registered against them along with three unidentified persons under section 34(2) of theMP Excise Act.
