MP: 4 booked for attacking doctor, hospital staff after Covid-19 patient’s death in Ujjain

INDORE: Irked by the death of a female Covid-19 patient, her relatives attacked the doctors and paramedical staff and attempted to remove oxygen masks of other patients admitted at RD Gardi Medical College hospital late on Saturday night.
Police on Sunday booked four persons for attacking the medical staff and ransacking the hospital.
Chimanganj police station in-charge Mahendra Parmar told reporters that the accused got violent after they were informed about the death of the woman. They beat up the doctors and tried to remove the oxygen masks of other patients, he said.
Doctors and paramedical staff later stopped work and demanded immediate action against the accused. Senior police officials rushed to the spot and calmed down the soaring sentiments.
Chimanganj police have registered cases against four persons under relevant sections of IPC and pandemic act.
