One killed, friend injured as car collides with parked truck in Mandsaur

Indore: A man was killed and one was injured when a car collided with a parked truck on Garoth-Ujjain four-lane highway in Mandsaur late Sunday night.Vinod Lohar, a resident of Kundla Khurd, was employed at a private bank. He was returning home with his friend, Nepal, after dropping his wife at her maternal home, when their car crashed into the rear-end of a truck parked in front of a dhaba near Salaria village. Vinod died on the spot, while Nepal sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Suwasra Community Health Center (CHC).Vinod's body will be handed over to his family after postmortem examination was performed at Suwasra CHC.SP Abhishek Anand said, "Mandsaur police has registered a case while further probe is on."Man crushed to death by truck, BIL injuredA man was crushed when a truck hit the motorcycle he was riding on in Neemuch, late Sunday night. The victim and his brother-in-law were on their way to Sanwariya Seth temple when the accident took place.The incident occurred near Green Hotel in Malkheda, under the City Police Station area. The injured duo was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared Anil Maida, a resident of Palsoda, dead upon arrival. Anil's brother-in-law, Mukesh, remains hospitalised with serious injuries."We have seized the truck involved in the accident but the driver managed to flee the scene. A case has been registered. Anil Maida's body was handed over to his family after postmortem examination on Monday. Investigations are ongoing," SP Ankit Jaiswal said.
