5-year-old dies after falling from toy train in Rajasthan's Jodhpur
JODHPUR: A five-year-old girl lost her life after allegedly falling from a toy train during a family outing at Mandore Garden in Jodhpur. The incident occurred Sunday evening, when the child fell from the moving train and was run over by one of its wheels.
According to the girl's father, Mohammad Habib, the family visited Mandore Garden Sunday evening and boarded the toy train. Habib said his daughter, Anayra, was seated with her mother and aunt when the train driver allegedly suddenly braked.
"The sudden braking caused Anayra to be thrown out of the train," Habib alleged. He further claimed that despite passengers shouting and asking the driver to stop, the train continued moving and a wheel of the train ran over the child's neck, resulting in fatal injuries.
Habib said his 20-year-old niece, Muskan, was also injured while trying to save the child.
Family members immediately rushed Anayra and Muskan to the Mathuradas Mathur Hospital, where the doctors declared Anayra dead, while Muskan was treated for her injuries.
The bereaved father also alleged that he raised concerns about the condition of the toy train before purchasing tickets. "We were assured that everything was fine and were told not to worry," he said. Following the incident, Habib lodged an FIR against the toy train operator at Mandore Police Station.
Station house officer (SHO) Mandore, Sheshkaran, confirmed that a complaint was received from the family and a case was registered. Police said an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.
