9-year-old mauled by stray dogs in Bundi school, critical
Jaipur: A nine-year-old girl was critically injured after being mauled by a pack of stray dogs during the lunch break at a government school in Bundi district Thursday, sparking panic on campus. The attack occurred around 11.30am at a govt school in Sitapur village under Talera area. Officials said children were playing in the grounds after the mid-day meal when four to five stray dogs entered the premises and attacked the girl.
Witnesses said the dogs dragged her and bit her repeatedly, triggering chaos as other students ran in fear. Teachers rushed to her rescue and managed to drive the animals away. Family members alleged the girl sustained 14 to 15 bite wounds. She was initially taken in critical condition to a hospital in Taleda and later referred to MBS Hospital in Kota due to the severity of her injuries. Dr Neeraj Dewanda, senior professor and head of general surgery at MBS Hospital, said the child suffered serious and deep wounds, including injuries near the lungs. She has been admitted to the ICU and is under close monitoring. District education officer Kunjbihari Bharadwaj confirmed the incident at Govt Senior Secondary School, Talera. "After the mid-day meal, children were playing when dogs entered the campus and attacked one student. Teachers and the principal immediately rushed her to hospital. She is undergoing treatment," he said. The girl's family claimed stray dogs frequently roam inside the school premises and demanded action. Education department officials have directed block-level officers to visit the school and probe the incident, including whether any other child was injured.

We have become a 3rd world country. Discredit for this goes to Smt Menka Gandhi who notified ABC (Canine) Rule-2001 mischevously. ABC Rules of 2001 & 2023 have not been approved by Parliament as per provision of Section 38 of PCA Act 196O.Moreover, Sec 38 of PCA Act 1960, Union Govt can make Rules oertaining to matters of cruelty to animals. Control of animals is a State Subject as per State List. Therefore States alone can legislate on matters of control of animals. In compliane, all Municipality Acts of all States already consists provisions to contraol os ownerless animals. Most States have provided for destruction of stray canines.Read allPost comment
