JAIPUR: The arrested policemen in the Dara Singh encounter case got a massive support of the public at the special court dealing with CBI cases on Wednesday.
Hundreds of peoplethronged the court premises on Wednesday afternoon as the cops were beingproduced by CBI personnel.
The arrested cops are
Nasir Khan,
Naresh Sharma, sub-inspector Satyanarayan Godara and assistant sub-inspector Surendra Singh.
Their supporters claimed that the cops were made sacrificiallambs to protect high-ranking officials and shouted anti-Gehlot andanti-government slogans.
Rants like "Nirdoshon ko jo phasaye wohsarkaar nikaami hai (the government which traps innocents is incompetent) and"Police zindabad CBI hai hai" filled the air as the mob blocked the nearbyroads.
Several of them lie down in front of the CBI vehicles,shouting slogans and jostling with the police deployed to maintain law andorder.
The supporters, mainly from the Jat and Muslim communities,lambasted CBI for arresting these police personnel. Some of them also shouted,"Nasir tum sangarsh karo, hum tumharey saath hain".
Many of themaccused CBI of targeting the lower-level policemen while favouring the seniorcops, who they claimed, were behind the conspiracy.
When asked aboutthe huge crowd on the court premises, Jaipur police commissioner B L Soni saidlawyers and courts concerned allowed the public on the court premises as thearrested policemen were produced. "On Thursday, we will ensure that law andorder is maintained," Soni said.
Despite the fact that the Dara Singhencounter case is is a sensitive one yet police deployment at the court was notadequate due to which some unruly scenes were also witnessed. Several supportersof the arrested policemen even misbehaved with members of the CBI team who cameout of the court premises after producing the accused and getting their one-dayremand from the court.
In some instances, the mob was seen arguingwith the policemen deployed and lawyers before the accused personnel wereproduced before the special court dealing with CBIaffairs.
