JAIPUR: BJP legislator Kali Charan Sarraf asked government to explain in the assembly if Dixit had the necessary permission to be in the RCA. Earlier in the day, the high court suspended a lower court order that put on hold the decisions taken against Dixit at the association’s extraordinary general meeting held at Udaipur on July 29.
Reacting to the prosecution approval granted against him by the CMO, Dixit told TOI: “If the DoP chargesheets me or issues show-cause notice on the subject, this will be the nth time it will be doing so.
This is a routine thing and I’ll give a reply. In the past six months the issue has come up several times and just three days back, I wrote a letter to the DoP saying the matter was pending before the court. Such correspondence has been going on for the past 10 years.”
Dixit came under firing from the state government after he engaged in a power tussle within the RCA, allegedly undermining the authority of its president and union minister C P Joshi. The Joshi-Dixit dispute soon began to adversely affect the ruling Congress party’s image when Jaipur MP Mahesh Joshi sided with the Dixit camp and accepted the RCA chairman’s post.
When questions began to be raised on the IAS officer’s conduct, the state sports department, law department and the DoP made stringent observations against him.
