Chiranjeevi Mitra
will be deployed to bridge the gap between the hospital and patients for making cashless treatment easily accessible.
A health department official said the Chiranjeevi Mitra will help patients in resolving their grievances for implementing the insurance scheme effectively in the state and also refer the patient to another empanelled hospital.
The Chiranjeevi Mitra will have all the details of empaneled hospitals under the scheme in their respective districts with addresses and contact numbers of nodal officers.
The official said if any private hospital does not have treatment available of a particular disease of the beneficiary, the Chiranjeevi Mitra will arrange 108 ambulance service for their transportation to other empanelled hospitals for helping patients in availing cashless treatment for his diseases.

Since the launch of the scheme in the state, 8.8 lakh patients have already been provided with cashless treatment. Under the scheme, patients can avail the benefits of 1,597 packages of diseases which include general diseases and other disorders and emergencies related to heart, cancer, neuro and even treatment of Covid and black fungus.
Beneficiaries can call at 181 toll free number for more information on the scheme. So far, 695 private hospitals and 788 government facilities have been empanelled under the scheme.
