Cong slams health minister, puts up his ‘missing’ poster
Kota: NSUI and Youth Congress workers, Tuesday, staged protests across Kota over the deaths of four postpartum women at New Medical College Hospital (NMCH), putting up ‘missing' posters of state health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar. Protesters accused the govt of insensitivity.Led by NSUI district president Vishal Mewada and Youth Congress spokesperson Swapnil Sharma, protesters pasted posters at major intersections, govt hospitals and public places, questioning the minister's absence even a week after the deaths and the critical condition of six other women. The youth leaders alleged that despite the seriousness of the incidents, the minister had neither visited Kota nor reviewed the situation. They claimed deteriorating hospital conditions and poor healthcare arrangements reflected govt negligence. "The minister's absence shows the govt's insensitivity towards affected families," Mewada said. Protesters also accused the govt of limiting to paperwork while hospital infrastructure continued to worsen.
